Not Today, Not Yet!

Has anyone thought of themselves as a failure at any point in their lives? Well most of us if not all. A person tends to consciously distract themselves from their own goals when an easier path is set in front of them. And it’s not because they are lazy or they lack the will to strive for something greater but because of their own doubts. The questions which quite frequently pops up in their heart is whether the path they are on warrantees the result. In the beginning when they set off on that journey, they only feel the thrill of the ride, but as they encounter the obstacles on their way these doubts arise from places unspoken and make them doubt their own prowess.

Maybe it’s just the universe testing your strength to stay or run off course or some other cosmic phenomena trying to burst your bubble or just another result of some incalculable coincidences that play out to give you a way out, an easier destination, a comfortable journey or a guarantee of a comparatively smaller future. Sometimes its just your own folks giving you crap about trying to do something doable or nudging you to aim at something that’s already been done even though you have a different idea in mind, you must make a decision to either succumb to their concerns and stay grounded or run. Because in the end you are the only one to blame for your own choices because that’s how it works and will work so. You can’t blame your parents or your friends or some other random dude you met down the road because it wouldn’t matter then and it definitely wouldn’t have mattered then if you had believed in yourself.

People get asked to make decisions that suit their age, but if those decisions would only affect them in that age, they would just be deciding breakfast and lunch. If we are planning for some family that’s yet to be made or a career yet to be had, it doesn’t matter if we’re a teenager or an adult, a student or a teacher, a man or a woman because every single decision leads us to where we are or where we will be. What we are expected to do is a lot less important when compared to what we have to do because life or death, it catches upto us and the time in between is the clock ticking, reminding us of the countdown going down and down, reminding us of the energy left to use and the work left to do and that it doesn’t stop for any of us to take a break or catch our breath. So, it doesn’t matter if we dream big or small, all that matters in the end is whether we chose the easier path during the journey, whether we strayed from our path willingly, because they become the reasons we regret later.

I had a friend who once said to me- “We are happy not when we are comfortable but when we have the least regrets.” This isn’t a message to society or a moral to learn but a value to live by. It is a reminder I’ve made for all of us who still have a lot of time to countdown and a lot to perspire for. To whomever we dedicate all our winnings to, we still live for ourselves and I believe its not a good thing to willingly create regrets just for some comforts down the road.

Truly,

ENIGMA.
