"A TODOS MIS AMIGOS" 


            Friendships, I’m not going to say they are worth more than all the money in this world because I haven’t had the chance to compare them to anything I own which can be narrowed down to my school achievements, maybe as it wasn’t directly bought or influenced by my folks. The single most relationship which we have to obtain on our own with no intention of getting something in return is as you know – FRIENDSHIP. I believe that it might be the purest form of a bond even when compared to a romantic bond because everybody gains something from a romantic relationship, be it experience or financial stability or support or even weight.

            For those of you who are starting to argue about a “Friendship with ‘Benefits’ ”, it’s just a deal made for mutual gain or whatever people are calling it nowadays, which I believe is not the true form of friendship or maybe not a friendship at all. It can’t be replaced with cuteness or pleasure or any word-of-mouth deals. It is true that we help or get help from our friends when in need but it is just a part of being in that type of relationship.

            We as a society have restricted the limits and possibilities of friendships to genders, situations, history and economy. It’s like clipping the wings of a bird because it “might” leave the cage and thus fly off. Any person who gets a friend, not just a classmate or roommate or drinking buddy, gets one for life, it doesn’t matter if he/she communicates on a daily basis, its just there. As long as one enters a friendship with the sole intention of becoming friends with that person themselves and not to fulfil other endeavours, they would surely last a lifetime if not the next.

            All of us are dependent on a good companionship because they simply make us better or at the least feel better, guess that is what one “gains” from a friendship. Creating memories then becomes a side benefit of being in one such company. If it were to be attributed with a taste, I would say it is crispy, cheesy and salty maybe because the longer it is, more we tend to enjoy it (no intention of sounding dirty).

            I’ve always had one wish in my life, that it should be exciting in every inch of it whichever way it could be because our early years might be worthy of nostalgia later but regrets only remain when we fail to do something we should have and I am very afraid of regrets. Maybe we all should be afraid of regrets; it might not be very wise because with it comes a hell lot of other crap but in the end, we would still have some of our buds by our side to stand upto them. As the Barnacle once said- “Whatever you do in this life, it’s not legendary unless your friends are there to see it.” and all I care about is this life being LEGENDARY!! We all need friends, not because we can’t live without them, they’re not food or water, of course we can live without them; but because they make life all the more worthy to cherish.

THE POINT AND LINE OF EVERYTHING               After pondering over this question for longer than I can remember, it has occurred to me that it could never occur to a person who was built to survive here. We are limited by our very foundations which decide whether we are fit to survive in this society.
